VICCARBE furnishes the NYC LINKEDIN headquarters
The Empire State Building is already one of the most unique places to work in the Big Apple, but the NYC LinkedIn offices on the 28th floor have made the iconic building even cooler. This feature has been accentuated by the addition of some designer furniture pieces of the Spanish brand VICCARBE. Let’s tour through Linkedin’s offices together…
The prestigious international studio IA Architects was tasked with the interior design of this stunning workspace located in the 22 to 28 floors of the iconic Empire State Building, the marbled art deco masterpiece that dominates the Manhattan skyline.
The challenge was not small, because, as we all know, Linkedin is the world’s most popular professional social network and therefore its offices must meet the expected standards and the philosophy of this giant of the social media world. The brief was in fact to create “a fun and vibrant floor” for the company’s ever-expanding sales team on the 28th floor of the building.
The entire floor has been conceived as a “club level” and recreation area for employees, with a number of informal lounge and collaborative spaces and better circulation paths to separate work areas. Amenities include also billiard tables, a screening room, a gym, a café and a speakeasy lounge accessed by a vestibule covered with vintage rotary phones.
In this context, the Spanish designer furniture brand VICCARBE has been commissioned to supply the stylish BERRY sofa and the HOLY DAY armchairs, designed by Jean-Marie Massaud, for one of the most comfortable and welcoming loungey workspace in the headquarters.
Designed by Studio Vccb, BERRY is a sofa made of contemporary lines but with a classic feel for those who appreciate sober, timeless and comfortable designs. The different modules can be configured in various ways for domestic or contract use.
Elegant and harmonious, the HOLY DAY lounge chairs is one of the most emblematic design of the brand and can be found in the lobbies of the most prestigious international firms, such as the Grand Hyatt Hotel in New York, the Coca Cola offices in Toronto and the Simplot headquarters in Australia, as well as in the living rooms of stylish homes.
At Linkedin bright blue was used to cover all of the surfaces in the central lift lobby, from which a feature wall in the same colour forms a ribbon around the communal areas. The rest of the spaces follow mainly a black, white and grey colour palette, as the lounge decorated with VICCARBE’s products.
Workspaces are populated with clusters of height-adjustable desks in the western and northern portions. To the south, views out of the windows take in the nearby Flatiron Building and the concrete jungle of Lower Manhattan.
