Various shades of OM, the new outdoor umbrella of CALMA

When outside is scorching hot, there’s nothing better than a sun umbrella to turn your patio into a cool, shaded relaxation space. Attractive and almost sculptural, OM is the new functional and versatile sun shade of CALMA that is able to turn glaring sun into gentle light while adding a unique, elegant Mediterranean feel to your outdoors. Let’s go into the shade and get more info!

The NUA chairs and the OM sun umbrella

100% designed and manufactured in Spain, OM is a next generation sun shade for modern lifestyle. In addition to providing protection from sun, it imparts an inviting sense of place as it has been specifically created to shield, chill out, entertaining or even work.

The opening handle can be locked so that users can chose between two different configurations of the canopy: the tense one, with a more conventional image, and the wavy one, inspired by the typical sun shades from Ibiza.

From a central pole, a mechanism made of mechanized aluminium and stainless steel pieces allows a circular opening of the canopy ribs. When the canopy is closed, a simple mechanism allows a 360° rotation of the canopy creating a vane effect when the wind blows.

Thanks to its versatile design and its technical features, Om is available in three different models that suit any garden design and need: central pole umbrella, wall umbrella (for 90 / 180 / 270° angles) and folding wind/ambience screen.

The covers come in three different materials, each one with its range of colours: the Sunless500 screen in grey or black; the acrylic in taupe, black and white; and the PVC Valmex shade in white. All of them give UV protection and resist fading and corrosion.

The base can be movable or permanent, depending on the user’s need or landscape design.
