The Spanish new visions of work at the ORGATEC 2016

Held every two years, the ORGATEC meets new workspace trends by offering new perspectives, inspiring concepts and market-leading solutions relating to all aspects of work. The exhibition is a perfect platform to source the latest offerings in furniture, storage, flooring, acoustics, lighting and technology.

This year, the exhibition space has been increased to 130,000 sqm to host more than 600 companies. The number of foreign exhibitors has risen significantly as well accounting for approximately 73% of exhibitors. Italy, Spain, Scandinavian countries and Turkey will be the main international presence at the forthcoming exhibition.

Occupying a surface area of more than 3,700 sqm in all main halls (6, 8, 9, 10, 11), Spain will be represented by approximately 40 brands and some of the most outstanding are brands of FURNITURE FROM SPAIN.

Their offer will include innovative desk systems, meeting tables, chairs and soft seating that reflect the new culture of work, as well as seating collections, storage units, modular shelving systems and lighting items for cool working atmospheres and outdoor lounge spaces.


Germany is the second largest market for Spain’s office furniture exports. In 2015, the exports of Spanish office furniture amounted to 19,2 million euros (+3.8%), which represented the 11.1% of Spain’s total exports.

The excellent performances of Spanish furniture in the German market, which is also a hub for other Central Europe markets, have encouraged a rising number of Spanish brands to increase their participation in the main business platforms of the area: IMM Cologne, Orgatec and Light + Building in Frankfurt. Main aim of their strategy is to establish new business collaborations with local professionals of the interior design and contract industry and consolidate their position in the market.

As in previous years, the fair expects more than 50,000 opinion-shaping trade visitors that will include founders of start-up companies, dealers and decision makers from SMEs, planners, architects and interior designers as well as executives from the Procurement and Human Resources departments of large corporations.
