The Spanish furniture sector grows hand by hand with Habitat 2019

May 24 / 2019

Billing for sale of home furniture in Spain grew by 5% in 2018, to reach 1,540 million euros, according to the data provided by the Sectorial Observatory DBK of Informa.

Exports have continued growing with an increase of 8.6% among which France, the United States and Portugal concentrated a total of 42% of these exports. These data have helped the growth of Feria Habitat Valencia 2019, which presents a clear recovery of the sector.

France, one of the countries with the greatest weight in the Spanish furniture sector, has been designated as the guest market for this edition of the Habitat Fair. It is the first destination of Spanish furniture exports, with 595 million euros exported in 2018 and with a growth of 12% over the year before.

The fair has closed a collaboration agreement with the ‘Union Francophone des Décorateurs d’Intérieur – UFDI’, the main professional association of architects, interior decorators and specifiers of the contract channel in France, through which a good number of representatives of this Collective will visit the next edition of Feria Habitat Valencia to promote this commercial relationship.

Finally, taking into account this international progress, pavilion 4 of Level 2 will host an exclusive area addressed to the European market so that the signatures coming from the center of Europe and those from Spain that have some interest in trade with these countries may have a space reserved for the specialization of their goals.
