Spain Design at IMM Cologne 2014: TREKU, style & elegance at its best
High quality, meticulous designs and a timeless feel are the hallmarks of TREKU, the Basque Country based company specialized in the design and manufacture of contemporary furniture for living & dining rooms, bedrooms and work spaces. The brand will kick off the year at two main events, the IMM Cologne and the Stockholm Furniture Fair, where it will put on display its newest successful collections, the AURA and the BELHARRA, plus a new launch: the LAU, a creation by Ibon Arrizabalaga for TREKU. Let’s explore them together>>>
IMM Cologne 2014 – Hall 3.2 Stand D042
All the company’s furniture has been created by professional designers, some of whom internationally renowned, so that all the pieces and collections of TREKU are original designs that feature a common trait: the timeless elegance that inspires them.

Here you have a description of the main collections on display at IMM Cologne. Take note and get inspirations!
LAU by Ibon Arrizabalaga NEW!
Timeless and elegant, the LAU shelving system is also notably dynamic as it can be adapted to fit the customer’s every need. Simple horizontal design permits the inclusion of sliding doors, back panels and intermediate shelves finished in different colours and materials.
The design’s horizontal lines are achieved by using different thicknesses in the horizontal and vertical elements which gives the piece a unique personality. The many configurations of this collection include also low pieces that are ideal for use as television units or sideboards.
BELHARRA TABLE by Jean-Louis Iratzoki
Named after a giant wave that forms off the Basque Coast, this wooden table features a rolling wood desktop that creates two curved storage spaces, one above and the other below. It is available in two different versions (with or without lower storage compartments) and four separate sizes. The desk can also be configured and customized in different laminate and wood finishes. A table inspired by the sea both for shape and colours!
On 28 May this year, Treku’s Belharra table received an award from the prestigious French Archi Design Club, within the framework of the “Produits de l’Architecture et du Design” competition, in which it participated alongside with other major design companies including Fritz Hansen, Thonet, Desalto, Paola Lenti and Rimadesio.
AURA Collection by Angel Martí & Enrique Delamo
The AURA collection has been conceived mainly as a versatile, practical family of storage units for the living or dining room. Its Nordic inspired retro feel combines with modern functionality to offer customers and interior designers a line of sideboards, living and dining room furniture that can adjust in size, shape, colours and texture to the requirements of the space available.
Its bold status with a choice of metal or wooden feet confirms its timeless authority. AURA comes in a range of woods which include walnut and oak wood with a hyper natural finish together with vibrant shades of smooth finished lacquers.
Treku was founded in 1947 in Zarautz in Guipúzcoa. It specialises in the design and manufacture of contemporary furniture. The company originally took its name after its founder, the cabinetmaker Jesús Aldabaldetrecu, and, in 1970, it was renamed Muebles Treku. Today, the company is committed to providing a specialist and bespoke service, to sustainability and to the high quality of its products and services, which are distributed in Europe and the US.
