A more modern and less extravagant character transpires from the new haute décor interiors, resulting in timeless deco schemes that are both refined and comfortable. Many Spanish companies have evolved towards this trend and in Milan you will have the chance to have a firsthand look at some of the latest impressive creations of brands such as AMBOAN, HURTADO, TOMÁS & SAEZ and VALENTI. All of them exhibiting in the xLux sector, Hall 3. Get involved!
As the name suggests, classic contemporary (or transitional, as they define it in the US) is a marriage of traditional and modern furniture, finishes, materials and fabrics. It puts together the best of both styles creating soft, harmonious atmospheres that are always relaxing and never frilly.
The emphasis is placed on great attention to details and on well-proportioned pieces that exude an understated yet refined style. Lines are typically straight, though soft, sweeping curves are also present in good measure. Colour palettes are very subtle, with an emphasis on cream, ivory and bright grey, creating a scheme that is relaxing and uncomplicated. Noble and exotic woods as well as an amazing detailing are also widely present for an extra touch of glam…
AMBOAN – Hall 3 Stand L20
Founded in 1984, the Valencia-based AMBOAN is one of Spain’s most respected furniture manufacturers. Still true to their top-quality craftsmanship, the company has invested in the latest manufacturing technology and it is this combination of hand-crafting and finishing and use of machinery that allows them to produce furniture of the highest quality. Such as the successful TRAZO that subtly mixes tradition, new materials and technology. Lately, the collection has been enriched with new finishes, such as the curly maple and ebony veneers and the metal detail in gold and graphite. New additions include a bedroom, which features an elegant combination of matt lacquers, leather and metal detailing, and new occasional pieces, such as the cabinet made of curly maple veneers.
The firm will unveil in Milan AMBOAN by Pedro Peña, a brand new line of unique occasional furniture created by the renowned interior designer for the brand. Each piece is a state-of-the-art object that impresses for the spectacular combination of oak wood, high-gloss lacquers, chrome detailing and modern silk-screen printing technique.
Take for example the beautiful TWENTY sideboard lacquered in contrasting colours with front embellished by stylized Arabesque motifs. It has transparent feet that make it feel as if it's hovering above the floor.
Or the stunning QATAR dining table with a boat top lacquered in black and with two semicircular bases made of pierced stainless steel. Or the sculptural Art-Deco inspired RAY round table with a precious serrated golden base.
They are all haute décor pieces for luxurious apartments, mansions and big spaces, such as lounges in hotels, and are produced on request of clients and interior designers with the required finishes.
HURTADO – Hall 3 Stand M24
Founded in Valencia, Spain, in 1940, HURTADO enjoys a renowned international reputation for its excellent furniture collection both in classic and contemporary style. While hand carvings, exquisite inlays and finishes enrich the TRADITIONAL collections, the collections of the contemporary EVOLUTION line, such as MON, CITY or SOHO, feature a subtle interplay of linear geometric shapes, manufacturing skills and more contemporary materials and finishes.
SOHO, the latest addition to the EVOLUTION line, taps into new trends by adding marbles, leather and brass as outstanding raw materials. As usual for HURTADO, the range of wood veneers is rich and includes walnut, maple, oak, mahogany, ash wood roots and rosewood.
SOHO includes dining room furniture and occasional pieces for living rooms that can also be used to complement other collections of the same line. As the sophisticated bar cabinet that lies over a beautiful brass base and can be finished in two colours for more contrast and visual interest.
The aesthetic beauty of sideboards is increased by the mix of wood and leather on fronts and by the brass integrated pull handles that add refinement without being too ostentatious. All drawers are provided with push-to-open and soft-closing system.
The intersection of geometric planes accentuates the contemporary feel of tables, whose bases can come in wood, brass or stainless steel. All of them come in different shapes and sizes, so that you can also play with them creating different dynamic compositions.
A choice of colour finishes (matt, satin, high gloss, lacquers) from the MON catalogue ensures a lot of personalization while offering designers several configurations from which to choose.
TOMÁS & SAEZ – Hall 3 Stand H37
With more than 30 years of experience in the manufacturing of lighting collections, decorative items and occasional furniture in classic and contemporary style, TOMÁS & SAEZ has made of exclusivity and high quality the hallmarks of its brand.
The firm will unveil in Milan the new dining room of the PRISMAS collection, a sophisticated line of living and dining furniture made of natural Makassar ebony and white pomele with stainless steel details that accentuate the glam feel. The reverse diamond match of the Makassar ebony veneer creates a stunning effect on the front of the spectacular sideboard, whose beauty is also enhanced by the contrasting wood and the refined diamond-shaped handle.
The combination of colours, delicate shapes and artistic handles crafted in bronze makes of these pieces unique and timeless objects of art, as if they were real “jewels for the home”.
The ADN occasional furniture collection will be showcased with the new finishes: high gloss lacquered in light colours and embellished by different metal bases.
VALENTI - Hall 3 Stand H34
Starting from a solid handcraft tradition, over the latest years the firm has strived to incorporate I+D into their manufacturing process as well as new marketing strategies. This has led to the creation of furnishing collections that have a more contemporary feel and are cutting-edge in functionality.
The policy of quality products is still at the core of their brand philosophy with furniture made of the best noble woods and amazing finishes. Such the new TIVOLI collection, composed of a complete dining room and a bedroom made of selected Spanish walnut veneers finished in high-gloss lacquers to enhance even more the beauty of wood.
To give a glam accent to the collection, designs have been completed by an amazing combination of high gloss lacquers, mirror-polished stainless steel elements and details and a variegated matching of veneers that makes these pieces unique.
The table top is made of book matched veneers that create a beautiful radial effect on the surface. Each piece of veneer is precisely cut and hand fitted to its neighbour. Made in stainless steel, the base features an intricate design of diagonal lines.
The bed comes upholstered in leathers of the highest quality that cover both the frame and the headboard.
With a bolder appeal, the Art-Deco inspired BORGOÑA dining table has an impressive top made of eucalyptus wood finished in high gloss red. To accentuate contrasts in texture and colours, legs come upholstered in dark leather.
