PLECS, the new outdoor modular lounge system by Jaume Torras for CALMA

New trends for outdoor spaces are all about modularity and about blurring the borders between indoors and outdoors. Plush modular sofas upholstered with weather resistant fabric are all the rage as they adapt easily to every patio. They add a luxurious look and can also be accented with throws and colourful pillows.

Inspired by Origami, the PLECS outdoor modular lounge system from CALMA responds to these trends and can be configurated to create an outdoor oasis that works for the shape and style of the space. It is available in two versions and consists of 4 pieces joined together by mechanized polyethylene platforms that work as feet. They support a structure made of a 6 mm laser cut and weldless folded aluminium plates.

PLECS RELAX collection

It offers 4 different modules that can be combined to obtain different configurations that adjust the sofa to the space: a 77 X 77 cm pouf module made of upholstered foam; a 77 X 87 cm single-seater with backrest; a 154 X 87 cm two-seater module with backrest; and the chaise longue formed by two pouf modules with backrest structure.

The different width of seats and backrests causes an intriguing visual effect and differentiate PLEC from other modular sofas.

PLECS RELAX comes upholstered in vinylic Silvertex, Ice colour.

PLECS SOFT collection

PLECS SOFT is a more sophisticated and adaptable version. Modules are softer than in PLECS RELAX sofas and the backrests are as wide as the seats. In addition to this, it offers four more modules that improve the modular design and allow for endless configurations.

Extra modules include a corner unit, the sofa and the armchairs with backrest and arms and the right-arm or left-arm chaise longue.

Seats and backrest cushions are upholstered in Sunbrella Natté with waterproof covers. The colours available are Silver and Dusk.
