Read on…
Mixing materials is indeed one of the biggest outdoor furniture trends. Mixed material outdoor furniture is cool, creates a modern feel and is often easier to keep clean. Wood and resin have become quite common in recent years, but you can expect to see also more metal, glass and composite materials. Teak is a big heat of the moment, especially in outdoor living and dining furniture.
Wicker and rattan have taken on a stylish new flair and match perfectly the trend of bringing natural and organic elements into living spaces both indoor and outdoor. You can find them in chairs, tables, stools and outdoor sofas in the classic light brown or painted in other colours, such as the vibrant red or black. Synthetic fibres that perfectly imitate the natural materials are another good option for a en pleine nature look.
Furniture has also been improved with the introduction of new weather and fade-resistant materials (Shintotex, Teflon, Sunbrella, Batyline, Sergio Ferrari, epoxy paints…) that make it possible to create a relaxing area in the sun or an open-air oasis for wining, entertaining and socializing.
As for colours, neutrals are still largely used — particularly shades of gray — but the trend now is to throw in a punch of more lively colours to liven things up, such as the different shades of blue, green or pink.
