NIKOLAS PIPER, the art of creating unique furniture

Specialized in the art of design and producing metal furniture, the Germany-born NIKOLAS PIPER creates outstanding unique pieces that impress for their sensual lines and serene elegance. It’s all about real works of art that grace the most exclusive residences in Spain and abroad. Let’s discover more…

The P

With no formal training as a designer, the German Nikolas Piper graduated from Berlin’s Fine Arts School with a degree in Communication Design, before moving to Madrid where he worked as a creative in an advertising agency. It all changed in 1994, when the renowned Majorcan blacksmith, Antonio Bonet, taught him how to work in iron.

Since then, NIKOLAS PIPER has designed and produced a whole range of metal and wood furniture from his studio in an old warehouse in Segovia, Spain. The main challenge of NIKOLAS PIPERS’s projects, as he calls his bespoke works, is to transform coarse iron and wood into pieces of top-quality furniture full of sensuality and elegance. Pieces have all one thing in common: they represent the personal stories of people who inspired them.

Take for example, the LOTUS fountain for a private residence in the Balearic Island. The main concept here was to reproduce in molten bronze the water lotus leaves so that they can recall the natural plants in winter and merged into them in spring and summer when the fountain is in full bloom.

Piper has also created benches for indoor and outdoor spaces that can be considered real sculptures, such as the CUENTAME bench in Cor-Ten steel and iroko wood with cow leather seats or the intriguing MENGUANTE bench with a tubular structure of Cor-Ten steel.

Available in two versions, matt stainless steel and Cor-Ten steel, the BRUNO chaise longue is a unique creation that add comfort and charm to the most exclusive ambiences.

Tables are among the most outstanding creation of Nikolas Piper. They have all been designed for specific projects but they soon were included into the catalogue. Personalization here plays a big role with pieces that can be customized according to the needs and taste of clients.

With its sculptural silhouette, the HELENA and the P&B tables are the best to create a stunning dining space in the outdoors. They feature a fine solid elm top and a base made of independent pieces in lacquered white steel.

The HELENA table

Made of stainless steel, the ZEPELIN table features a cutting-edge design that makes it perfect for the most stylish, contemporary ambiences.

Among the latest creations, the 5 table will impress in the most avant-garde interiors for its rustic-chic style. In solid elm wood, it has a foot made of a chromed car's bumper. Just use it to create a jaw-dropping corner at home!
