MUEBLE DE ESPANA on a trade mission to Colombia and Mexico
Seven Spanish companies, with the support of the Spanish Association of Furniture Manufacturers and Exporters (ANIEME) and the Spanish Institute for Foreign Trade (ICEX), will be visiting Colombia and Mexico in order to source new business opportunities in Bogotá, Mexico DF and Guadalajara.
With a diverse furnishing and decorative offer, both in classic and avant-garde style, the 7 brands participating in the mission will be presenting to the local market the variety and excellence of MUEBLE DE ESPAÑA:
Main objective of the trade mission, that will take place between the 17th and 27th of October, is to promote business contacts with local importers and specifiers and strengthen the presence of Spanish furniture in Mexican and Colombian both in the retail and contract markets.
Both countries are going through a phase of economic development. The growth of the tourism and construction sector has increased the number of equipment projects of different types, mainly in the hospitality sector. As a result, imports of furnishing products are increasing and Spanish companies, especially those of the medium-high and high segments, may close important deals in the area.
In the last 12 years, Colombian economy has registered a strong increase in investments and private consumes. Last year, Colombian GDP increased by 5.9%, while for 2012 an increase of 4.8% is expected.
Mexico, on the other hand, is one major buyer of Spanish furniture. During the first semester of 2012, Spain’s furniture exports to Mexico amounted to 12 million euros, which represent an remarkable growth of 26.4%.
