The market research consists of a busy schedule of interviews and meetings with local showroom owners, importers, architects and interiors designers that can be potential specifiers of Spanish furniture manufacturers.
Spain’s furniture exports to most of the Latin American countries have been growing over the latest years. As a consequence of the development of the development of the real estate market, particularly in the hospitality and corporate segment, the demand of furnishing products is increasing significantly. Mexico, Colombia, Panama, Brazil, Peru and Ecuador are some of the Latin American markets where business opportunities for Spanish companies are expanding.
With a real GDP growth rate of more than 10.0% in 2012, Panama is among the strongest market in Latin America. Speaking in general terms, sales of furniture are expected to increase even more due to the housing development and the increasing need of equipping office buildings as a larger number of companies are moving their headquarters to this country.
Great developments are also expected in the hospitality sector with the first boutique hotels to be opened in the main towns and along the coast. These accommodation places are visited by an increasing number of expats to Panama and by the international tourism.
In the Dominican Republic the contract sector has been gaining importance over the latest years, especially the demand of contract furnishing products for the hospitality macro projects under construction.
In Santo Domingo, the technical staff of ANIEME will be making contact with main architecture and interior design studios and promoting the excellence of the Spain’s furniture offer for the contract segment.
