In November 9 to 12, a group of 6 German specifiers and a journalist of AIT magazine met Spain’s leading brands of designer furniture, such as ACTIU, EXPORMIM, SANCAL, POINT, CAPDELL and VICCARBE. They learnt a lot about Spanish design and culture. But don’t take our word for it, read more and have a look at our pics…
Main objective of this inward trade mission, which was organized by ANIEME, the Spanish Furniture Association of Furniture Manufacturers and Exporters, with the support of ICEX (Spanish Institute for Foreign Trade), was to promote the avant-garde brands of Mueble de España among German specifiers who work in the contract sectors.
During the four-day inward mission, the representatives of important interior design and architecture studios of Berlin, Stuttgart, Frankfurt and Düsseldorf visited the premises of ACTIU, EXPORMIM, POINT, SANCAL, CAPDELL and VICCARBE, where they were given the chance to have a first-hand look at new designer furniture collections and manufacturing processes.
The feedback has been very positive with professionals showing a lot of interest in new products and considering the possibility to establish new collaborations for future projects.
The German group was accompanied by the journalist of the AIT magazine, who had been compiling all the information and graphic materials in order to cover the event and publish a special on one of the forthcoming editions of the magazine.
As part of the agenda, the group was given a tour of Valencia and its most emblematic monuments, such as the Cathedral, the historic centre, the City of Arts and Science, the Malvarosa Beach. Lunch & dinner time has been the occasion to taste the most typical dishes of Spanish gastronomy and to connect more with Spain’s culture and lifestyle.
The Spanish Association of Furniture Manufacturers and Exporters has focused on Germany for a number of years but, due to the number of projects carried by German studios, there is clearly a need to further develop and pursue collaborations with the local contract sector. The inward trade mission was just one of the steps of this process.
At the moment, Germany is the third destination market for Spain’s furniture exports. In the period January-August 2014, Germany’s imports of Spanish furniture were worth 87 million euros, registering a remarkable increase by +28.4% in comparison to last year’s figures for the same period.
The Spanish companies, as well as the staff of ANIEME / MUEBLE DE ESPAÑA and of the Spanish Commercial Office in Düsseldorf, were enthusiastic about establishing new key links with the German market. We all enjoyed very much the time spent together with the German missioners and now we want to share it with you. Click on the slideshow and let us know…
