INDEX Dubai 2013: FONTINI, high end design switches that light up emotions

Fontini Group will be exhibiting at INDEX Dubai the successful 5.1 (FIVE DOT ONE) range of switches and sockets, a design by Oriol Guimerà and Joan Cinca, from GuimeraiCinca Studio, for its brand FONT Barcelona. The 5.1 line comes in a wide variety of finishes and colours, allowing a high degree of customization.

In brush stainless steel or aluminum, chrome or nickel plated, in white Corian or antique bronze and in the trendy champagne, white, black, silver graphite or golden hues, plates, toggles, frames and pushbuttons can be combined to fit every ambience from the most contemporary to the most exclusive and glamorous, if what you want is to create a contrast effect.

Winner of the 2013 REDDOT Design Award, 5.1 ASYMMETRICAL GRAPHITE BRASS combines a minimalist asymmetrical design with quality and innovation to offer a true “wall jewelry”.

The elegant brass plate and the graphite finish used for the rings and toggle pushbuttons highlight the original avant-garde design of this new switch plate.

From the simplest two-way switch use to more sophisticated purposes, such as dimmers or electric-shutter mechanisms, 5.1 is perfect to create comfortable, pleasant atmosphere.

The offer in Dubai will be completed by a new special decorative application designed by the artist DIVA for FONTINI: the EPHERA NERA, an organic creation which is a hybrid between bas-relief and lighting elements, almost a mutation of art-work into a lamp.

Inspired by the sinuosity of Ephera, the unknown plant, EPHERA NERA is an acrylic painted luminous silhouette, decorated with Swarowski elements – in jet and jet hematite black-, built on a backlit aluminium board (180 cm X 80 cm). Black adds further mystery and elegance to this original creation.

Thanks to its free structure, EHERA NERA can be integrated in any interior design, minimalist or classic, offering always a balance of “Lights and Shadows” that mutate, blurring their contrasts.

Among other proposals, the ART COLLECTION, a line of precious switches and illuminated panels designed by DIVA and made of more than 800 Swarovski crystals, all carefully hand-set by the artist, with nature as the main source of inspiration.

Swarovski crystals features also in the stunning Special Edition 1950 collection, while Garby is a series of porcelain switches with an elegant old-fashioned look. Collection F37 is suitable for more contemporary schemes and the 5.1 line has been specifically designed for contract use.
