MOBLES 114

Founded in Barcelona in 1973 and a National Design Award (2001), MOBLES 114 stays true to the strong universal spirit infused more than 40 years ago by its creators, the industrial designers JM Massana and JM Tremoleda. Ranges include furniture, complements and accessories for home, office and public and urban spaces; all of them conceived with the aim of improving the quality of life by imbuing it with innovation, service, functionality, economy and beauty.

New products on display in Cologne include the latest creation by renowned Spanish designer Eugeni Quitllet, Martín Azúa and Lagranja.

MOBLES 114, TUBE chairs by Eugeni Quitllet

Recently launched at the autumn edition of Maison & Objet and design by Eugeni Quitllet, the TUBE chair features a soft design that reaffirms its industrial origin with lines that inspire movements, humanization and even a hint of humour. It seems as if has been created freehand in the air – a linear steel tube culminating into a polypropylene seat.

Apt to colonize both public and private spaces, the free-spirit, stackable TUBE chairs, which comes in two versions – with or without arms-, can be combined with its own colours and is accompanied by a café table.

At the fair, the brand will also unveil RAMBLA, a new metallic rib chair by Martí Azúa conceptually inspired by the chairs that fill one of the most emblematic and lively streets of Barcelona: La Rambla. Light and stackable with armrests, it reinterprets the tradition and evokes the Mediterranean lifestyle with people who love to gather around a table in an open-air terraza and chat away with friends. The chair collection is complemented by the square-shaped RAMBLA table which is ideal for decks, porches and gardens.

Another creation of Martín Azúa on exhibition is the LUCO stool, an item that combines cleverly three essential features: the traditional craft of woodturning, cutting-edge technology and the most genuine international design. Its deliberately simple shape and quality and the authenticity of its materials – beech wood and steel – made of it the perfect choice for dining areas at home as well as in public spaces.

As a new proposal signed by young Lagranja Design Studio, MOBLES 114 launches FORC, a wooden coat stand that is stable, durable and suitable for home as well as for offices, restaurants and bars.
