I Saloni 2013: Spain’s new designs spotted for you in Milan – Part 2

Let’s start with the new amazing proposals of Valencia-based KOO INTERNATIONAL, a reference in the upholstery sector. The brand showcased in Milan LUA, a small armchair designed by La Cubitera that features marked lines and a comfortable enveloping volume. It is produced in two versions: totally upholstered or with wooden legs.

TWO BE  is a new concept of sofa that mix furniture and upholstery. The result is an attractive and versatile modular system to create multi-use spaces for work, leisure or to relax.

Great success for the Spanish brand MECEDORAMA that exhibited for the first time in Milan, showcasing its new ranges of amazing rocking chairs: the Hobbs, MaMeMi and Triangle families.

All models, which are all handmade, are designed, welded, painted and plaited by the firm, but pieces can also be customized to meet the specifications of clients.

Ethnic intriguing hints, suggestive projections of lights and shadows, elaborate stamps, geometrical shapes and slim designs combine in JAPAN, ICPALLI, PIÑATA and CALETTA, the new lines of seating, dining sets, sun loungers, lighting and accessories that Estudi Hac, Joaquín Homs and Esther Campos have designed for POINT.

PUNT MOBLES chose Milan to unveil its 2013 set of new collections that impressed for the high quality designs. SLATS is a free and easy system of shelves and containers, designed by Marc Krusin to adapt all need and situations. Made of solid matt oak, the WHISKEY chairs, a design by Terence Woodgate,  can be stacked up but they don’t look like any other normal stackable chairs: a lot of work have been done on the frame and side rails to allow space for rear legs in order to create a product that is comfortable, smart and functional at the same.

Suitable for both home and contract use, BREDA is a collection of seating elements and occasional furniture with a strong accent on natural oak wood. Designed by Sohei Arao and made of natural wood, the series of BEVEL stools is available in different seating colours, heights and leg configurations.

On display, there were also the wooden armchair MAVA, a creation by Stephanie Jasny, and the tables BASS and TRANSALPINA, designed respectively by Borja García and CuldeSac. Featuring a minimal look, both tables are made from solid oak wood and present an extension system that makes them extremely versatile and functional.

To complete the offer, the MAI TAI trolley, a mobile carrying system with a useful lift-off tray.

At STUA’s stand, the stylish MALENA armchair was in good company. In one of the corners, MALENA was combined with the new MAREA tables, a creation by Jesús Gasca. With a slim central column in different heights, MAREA features a design based on the lightness of the structure.

For intense use the firm offers a white HPL top of 12mm, but there are also other options, such as the MDF top with white lacquer or a natural or stained in grey ash veneer.

A lot of good news at VICCARBE’s stand!  The brand unveiled in Milan a lot of new proposals, fruit of the long-lasting collaboration with the most international signature designers, such as Arik Levy, Jean-Marie Massaud, Piero Lissoni, Patricia Urquiola, Marc Krusin etc. This year, new launches included the minimalist STEP modular sofa by Vincent Van Duysen; the PLATFOM sofa, a collection of seats with varying back height signed by Arik Levy; COMMON, the elegant seating system created by Naoto Fukasawa; BRIX, the multipurpose armchair designed by Kensaku Oshiro, suitable for home and contract use and SERRA,  a series of sculptural auxiliary tables signed by Victor Carrasco.

The wide choice in colours and configurations allow a high degree of personalization and the possibility to create made-to-measure spaces at home or in public lounges.

To complete the array of new proposals, VICCARBE put on display also ACE soft, the restyling of the successful Ace armchair, a design by Jean-Marie Massaud, and PILLOWS, the colourful and innovative line of cushions that is provided of an amazing tablet storage bag.
