This summer, be daring! There is a sense of creative hedonism in the air with the focus on making outdoor spaces even more inspiring, playful, and comfortable than ever. Gardens, terraces, patios, swimming pool areas – even small balconies - are turning into stimulating social “rooms” by incorporating vibrant colours, innovative materials, and attractive designs.
New outdoor collections on display this September in Valencia have been specifically conceived to blur the boundaries between indoors and outdoors creating flowing, imperceptible transitions to the outdoor lounge areas and dining spaces. They can be used to add eye-catching interest that works particularly well in urban spaces or to set an immediate, calm atmosphere in gardens. Have a look!
Mediterranean vibes. The MITJORN Collection by Ramón Esteve for iSiMAR
Inspired by the Mitjorn beach, a natural paradise located on the island of Formentera, and the traditional fishing nets used by local fishermen, the MITJORN Collection from outdoor furniture manufacturer iSiMAR features an avant-garde design made of geometric, faceted lines that recall the polygonal shapes of meshes used for fishing.
The collection, which is suitable for outdoor, indoor and contract use, is made of 100% recycled and recyclable galvanized steel wire, coated with polyester powder paint. It includes a sun lounger, an armchair, a lounge chair and a table.
Seat cushions are also available for extra comfort.
Nature-inspired sophistication. The BOSTON Collection by Santiago Sevillano for SKYLINE Design
Another main trend for outdoor furniture is towards organic shapes, natural colours and traditional materials that blend in well with the surrounding environments creating a sense of harmony and an immediate relaxing mood. Spanish industrial designer Santiago Sevillano has imbued his recent BOSTON Collection, created for outdoor furniture specialist SKYLINE Design, with natural lightness and a great dose of style and comfort.
The black aluminum structure, the curved shapes and the grey-tone flat straps that wrap around the backrest and the armrest provide the collection with great personality and elegance.
Its wide, deep seats offer comfort that's hard to beat, while its pure design and enveloping backrest easily turn your outdoor lounge into a year-round getaway. Launched at the Milan Salone 2022, the collection includes a sofa, an armchair, a rocking chair, matching coffee tables and side tables, bar stools and a dining set. New additions will improve the Mediterranean flair of the collection to evoke the relaxing, calm atmospheres of seaside resorts.
A colourful touch in the outdoor dining area. The SORELL chair from MUSOLA
The colour palette this year in the outdoor area remains mostly subdued, minimalist and blends in seamlessly with nature. However, a few bright accents are also appearing in the form of accessories and colourful outdoor furniture. A colourful chair for example can have a powerful impact on the outdoors bringing to life an informal lounging corner or a dining space.
SORELL, a new creation from MUSOLA, is a chair with an incredibly charming design and great visual lightness. The structure is made of stainless steel and comes with a removable cushion filled with waterproof polyurethane foam (Dry Feel). In addition, it can be stacked up to 6 chairs, which makes it a very good option for both home and contract use.
Try it in combination with the SALVIA ceramic table to create a stylish dining set or with the LEMON table for a more informal look. And play with MUSOLA’s wide colour palette to bring to life your garden!
From bold patterns to nature-inspired calm spaces, at the feria Habitat Valencia you’re going to see a real mix of different ideas taking the stage, including timeless classics and modern innovations. Do not miss out!
