EXPORMIM’s FONTAL dining chair finalist for the Delta Design Awards 2014
Designed by Oscar Tusquets, the FONTAL dining chair has been finalist in the 37th edition of the Delta Design Awards 2014. ADI-FAD, the Association of Industrial Design, grants these awards to promote products that stand out for their innovation, conceptual renovation, environmental adequacy, design and manufacturing quality. A celebration of excellence in design.
EXPOMIM has been working with rattan for more than 40 years now. Going back to its roots, but with an updated production technique, the Spanish designer Oscar Tusquets has designed this new collection based on this raw material. “This project has born from the desire to bring rattan back as a noble material and to support the Spanish traditional hand-crafting techniques used to handle it”, Tusquets states.
Lightness, flexibility, strength and sustainability, these are the main features of this raw material. Rattan is back! The Fontal dining chair designed for EXPORMIM by Tusquets and its recognition for the Delta Design Awards 2014 just prove it. Congratulations!
