Gone are the days when the kitchen was only the housewife’s kingdom. Nowadays, kitchen is where all of the action in the home takes place. We live in our kitchens, and therefore they should be as functional and beautiful as any other part of the house. At CANCIO they are well aware of all this and since their set up in 1959 as a family business they have been constantly extending their ranges by introducing new designs, materials and functionality.
“We adapt to every need, offering always new original solutions for innovative spaces,” says Fernando Cancio, Sales Manager of this Valladolid-based family firm, which is now in transition from the second to the third generation. “We are firmly committed to update at least 30% of our product range every year in order to be always at the forefront of design and innovation”.
A key player in the Spain’s kitchen sector, CANCIO is evolving towards new business strategies and a more versatile approach, open to new segments and sectors, such as the furnishing for living room areas and contract spaces, restaurants and bars mainly. “Always with a great stress on originality and diversification, as well as on technical know-how”, points out Fernando. “This is crucial to ensure products that enhance the environments they’re in”.
This new policy has led to a multi-brand strategy and therefore to the creation of new brands that belong to the company and cover different market demands: SINGLE, a line of original, cutting-edge solutions for small spaces; MASQUEMESAS, a range of kitchen tables and chairs aimed at the medium-end market; and the last CANCIO’s launch, EVUALÁ, a brand new line of kitchen and living room furniture inspired by Nordic design and based on space saving solutions and functionality.
“With evualá we put the emphasis on design but at affordable prices,” explains Fernando. “It’s a product that offers functionality, comfort and ease of use. It has also character and originality”. He explains that new projects are underway, as the launch of the WOOD NEWS collection, with wood playing a starring role in all its items.
To carry out this policy, modern production processes are essential in order to ensure the proper production and commercial capacity. CANCIO has state-of-the-art facilities that cover over 15,000 sqm and a workforce of around 60 people in the small village of Villalba de los Alcores, in north-west Spain.
With 30% of its turnover coming from abroad in 2014, the brand is present in more than 25 countries in the four continents.
