CANCIO, new ideas for modern dining spaces
As homes are adapting to new lifestyles and ways of using spaces, dining spaces seem to be in a constant state of flux opening to new design concepts and decorating possibilities. CANCIO, a family-run manufacturer of tables, chairs and stools, has worked on new proposals that help to redefine the dining areas transforming and adapting them to modern functionalities and experiences. Let’s discover more…
Founded in the 50s as a producer of cupboards, CANCIO has made a name of itself for the manufacturing of kitchen tables and chairs. Now in its third generation, the brand has evolved and innovated its business models by introducing new designs, materials and functionalities. This has led to the reposition of the brand which marks a clear departure from a strategy based on kitchen products and a shift towards the home interior design and contract sectors.
“In addition to the construction of a new innovative plant and the enlargement of the workforce, we felt the need to change our approach to the market and differentiate ourselves from our competition,” says Fernando Cancio, who is the Sales Manager of the Valladolid-based firm.
For the 2017 season, the company has launched a new catalogue that meets new needs of consumers and totally adapt to modern lifestyle and trends adding value to interior spaces. “New designs have been conceived to provide solutions to small spaces and respond to new functionalities, but they are decorative too. We have worked in close collaboration with our designers to create products that enhance both people’s life and interiors,” points out Fernando.
The catalogue offers a wide selection of tables and matching chairs. It includes also a range of made-to-measure tables, such as the MULTIPLA collection, and wall-mounted drop-leaf folding tables that easily adapt to the smallest space. Some models, such as the CLICK or BLOCK folding tables, become easily a practical shelf when folded down or even turn into radiator covers and storage units.
“Our tables are beautiful as they are practical. They come in different measures, but some models are also offered made-to-measure to increase comfort and functionalities in small apartments. This way, by using our folding tables as desks, you can create a charming home-office in your living room or bedroom,” adds Fernando.
Materials and design innovation are other main issues of the new catalogue. “Wood has always played a key role in our brand identity, as wood has been part of our DNA since our foundation. It will always be our key material, but we also need to keep up with technological innovation and new trends. That’s why we have introduced new high-tech materials, such as the Neolith ceramic surfaces, the Fenix NTM® nano tech matt material and the AquaClean technology, an anti-stain protection that prevents stains penetrating the fabrics,” explains Fernando.
The issue of the catalogue has been also supported by the launch of the new corporate image and logo more in tune with the times and the new philosophy of the brand.
In this new phase, internationalization will play an important role as the brand is striving to open new markets in Germany, Italy, United Kingdom and USA and increase the export share that accounts now for approximately 30% of the turnover.
