Angola, another African target for Furniture from Spain
Last March, ANIEME organized a commercial mission to Luanda, the capital of Angola. Seven Spanish companies took part in this promotion event that took place the days 24th to 28th. The Spanish manufacturers met the Angolan importers and specifiers in order to present to them their new collections and start new business collaborations. Read more…
The action forms part of the 2014 Sectorial Plan for the furniture sector that ANIEME, the Spanish Association of Furniture Manufacturers and Exporters, elaborates every year with the support of ICEX, the Spanish Institute for Foreign Trade. The Commercial and Economical Office of Spain in Angola organized the agendas and meetings for the seven Spain’s companies that travelled to Luanda with the tecnical staff of ANIEME.
CURVASA, COMERCIAL FORES, HUCA HÁBITAT, CANELLA, GARCÍA SABATÉ, MOBLIBÉRICA and MOBIL FRESNO had as main objective to establish commercial contacts with Angolans importers and specifiers and to promote their furnishing offer in order to increase their presence in the African country.
During the B2B meetings ANIEME could observe that the Spanish furniture is very well appreciated in Angola. Furthermore, it has a comparative advantage with respect to Italian furniture because almost all imports and transportations are covered by the local companies via Portugal.
Modern lines for medium and medium-to-high range products are the most demanded ones in Angola, and also the ones you can more easily find in every store. Nevertheless, when it comes to big projects like villas and management offices, high-end furniture in classical style, which is usually shown in catalogue, is in high demand.
There is also demand for modern office furniture due to the increasing amount of multinational companies that open offices in the country.
With this mission, Angola joins the list of African countries where ANIEME has promoted the Spanish furniture. Countries like Ghana, the Ivory Coast, Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea and Nigeria, if we talk about Sub-Saharan Africa, or Morocco and Algeria in the area of Maghreb have been already object of market explorations by ANIEME.
ANIEME wants also to enlarge this list with two market researches in South Africa and Gabon and with a direct mission to Equatorial Guinea in the second semester of the year.
