Warm, sunny days welcomed the group of 8 German interior designers and specifiers on their visit to key players of the Spain’s design furniture industry on November, 8 to 11. Members were given the opportunity to have a first-hand look at the newest, cool proposals of ACTIU, ALTERNATIVE, CAPDELL, FAMA, SANCAL and VICCARBE. In collaboration with the Spanish Economic & Commercial Office in Düsseldorf, ANIEME, the Spanish National Association of Furniture Manufacturers & Exporters, hosted an inward trade mission of 8 renowned interior designers and contractors coming from the main design hubs in Germany: Berlin, Stuttgart, Frankfurt and Düsseldorf.

The aim of this action was to promote the Spain’s design furniture brands of MUEBLE DE ESPAÑA in the German contract sector by bringing a delegation of its most influential professionals to the home market. Most of the studios invited know already the Spanish offer and are currently involved in big projects: showrooms, commercial malls, universities, hotels… Some of them have worked for important Spanish corporations, carrying out the interior design of the ZARA showrooms or the flagship offices of Santander Bank.
All the members showed interest in discovering the potential of the Spanish design industry and in building fruitful business relationships for future projects. As part of the business agenda, the members of the delegation were introduced to the firms and attended B2B meetings in order to get information about the companies, their values, their commitments and production processes.
ACTIU, ALTERNATIVE, CAPDELL, FAMA, SANCAL and VICCARBE played host to the group showing them their facilities and the showrooms, where the professional could have a first –hand look at products and assess the potential of this companies to work in major projects all around the world.
Art, architecture, history and even gastronomy completed the work agenda in a joyful way by setting an emotional link with the country, its lifestyle and culture. The group was given a tour of Valencia and its most emblematic monuments, such as the Cathedral, the historic centre and the City of Arts and Science. Lunch & dinner time has been the occasion to taste the most typical dishes of Spanish gastronomy and to connect more with Spain’s culture and lifestyle.
Germany is now the third global destination market for Spanish exports of furniture. In January to August 2015, Germany’s imports of Spanish furniture were worth more than 113 million euros, representing a significant increase of +30.7% compared to last year’s figures for the same period.
Taking account of the consumption of Spanish furniture and the numerous contract projects currently managed from offices in Germany, the greatest potential for Spanish companies is concentrated today on the contract sector.
That is why, the aim of this action was mainly to inform German specifiers about Spain’s furniture products specifically designed for the interior design industry.
