Why can’t a seat be a work of art when it is not in use? This was premise when selecting the furniture for the lounge area of the contemporary art fair, SWAB, in Barcelona.

At Sancal they contributed with their particular vision of how furniture, apart from being functional, can also be artistic. Core sofa and Remnant armchair, together with Loop sofa and Link poufs are perhaps the firms’s most iconic and conceptual products, as they explore design as an artistic discipline.

Without a doubt this space blended easily with national and international gallerists who gathered in the emblematic Mies van der Rohe pavilion to host the fifteenth edition of SWAB.
